Recommendations for taco tasting in Puerto Vallarta
We know that when you are enjoying a vacation in Mexico, you really have to try some tacos, and we know where you can find the very best places for Taco Tasting in Puerto Vallarta. Read on to find out which restaurants offer the best meat, fish, and even vegan(!) tacos in the city;
Pancho’s Takos offers excellent food, generous portions, and inventive combinations to people of all ages. The Tacos al Pastor are the standout dish in this lineup; the slow roasted, pastor sauce marinated pork topped with fresh pineapple makes for an unusual and wonderful taste sensation. Since the indoor space is so limited you may have to sit outside, or even wait for a table, but trust us when we say that it’s worth the wait! You can always order a drink while you wait for a table, after all!
If you want a truly authentic taco experience you should head to El Carboncito where you will find some of the best tacos in Puerto Vallarta. The atmosphere is basic but cheerful, and lets the food take center stage (where it really does belong). Whether you try the meat or vegetable tacos you really cannot go wrong here, so go wild! Better still, if you’re peckish after a night on the town you’ll be pleased to hear that EL Carboncito is open late, too!
Marisma is the epitome of “no frills” when it comes to atmosphere and setting, but that’s only because all their time, effort, and love goes into the food. The dining space is tiny; table spill onto the sidewalk, and yet the seafood tacos are some of the very best in town. If you try only one thing on the menu make it the battered and fried shrimp and fish tacos!
If you want a sea view while you eat El Barracuda is one of the best places to eat in the city; this beach-side restaurant specializes in fresh seafood, though it does offer other dishes, and even has a range of specialty cocktails on offer. The tacos here are superb, but the Baja-Style fish, octopus al ajillo, steak and shrimp, or smoked marlin are the standout dishes to consider. If you do opt for seafood tacos we recommend a cocktail which has mezcal in it to compliment your meal.
If you want the ultimate family experience then you need to head straight to Tacos Revolucion where you will find specialty cocktails, fresh tortillas (made by hand each day), and a dizzying array of meat, vegetable, and seafood tacos. There are other dishes on the menu, of course, but the name alone should tell you that tacos are a specialty here. We recommend the self-named taco revolucion above all else; several meats, cheese, and a three-chili salsa make it a flavorful, zingy mouthful! Plus, who wouldn’t smile at their witty slogan; “make tacos, not walls”.
So, as you plan your vacation to Puerto Vallarta be sure to make time to try some of the best tacos in the city; any one of these fine establishments will give you a meal to write home about!
